Paris, of course Shutters thrown wide, a café promising vins et liqueurs, and the windmill — likely the Moulin de la Galette — peeking over the rooftops as if it knows all the gossip. Painted in the style of Maurice Utrillo (1883–1955), one of the few artists actually born in Montmartre, this oil on canvas (16” × 20”) carries a signature in the corner and rests in its original white-washed gilt frame (25” × 28.5”). A few tiny flecks of paint have wandered off over the years, but otherwise she remains quite marvelous.
